Update from the Derald Gautier family - Belmar Baptist Church in Colorado

May 6, 2008: Spring Has Sprung! Despite the snowstorm we had last week, it is feeling like spring this week. It has been entirely too long since my last update and I am sorry for the delay.

Things at the Church have been going well. Attendance in 2008 has been strong, but we did see a dip in the month of April. Several factors contributed to this: a sudden death that affected several families and sickness that hurt for several weeks, even keeping me home one Sunday morning. God has continued to bless. We have seen several folks join over the last month and had one baptized. We have a new members gathering scheduled for this month and two more to be baptized in the next two weeks!

We have seen some good progress in several areas of our Church lately. We have split and reorganized our Jr. Church ministries and have a couple of new families with small children visiting. God has given us several new folks to help with our music and we are seeing continued improvement in this area. Finally,we are praying for someone to help out with our teens - we are excited about several prospects in this area.

Our family is doing well. Ty is playing baseball and looking forward to the end of school. Kimberly is excited about the summer as well, and will start softball in a couple of weeks. MacKenzie has her first tooth and is very close to crawling. She enjoys going with Mom to work at the day care that Penny is directing.

Please continue to pray for Belmar Baptist Church. We are nearing the end of the lease agreement for the sale of our buildings (July 31) and we are still not sure if the other church will be able to secure financing. We are working on contingency plans, but this situation is truly in the Lord’s hand. Thank you for all the support and encouragement that we continue to receive. It is humbling to know that so many are praying for us. We cannot thank you enough.
